1. Who is responsible
This policy explains how GermanGrad processes personal data when you visit germangrad.com or use our courses and automated written feedback.
We are not required to appoint a data protection officer. For any privacy question or request, write to info@germangrad.com.
2. What data we collect
- Account data: name, e-mail address, chosen level and plan.
- Learning data: lessons completed, exercise and mock test answers and scores, progress, and texts you submit for correction along with our feedback.
- Communication data: the content of e-mails and messages you send us.
- Purchase data: plan, order and subscription status, provided by Polar. We do not receive your full card details.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time of access, collected automatically in server logs.
3. Payments through Polar
Paid plans are sold through Polar Software, Inc. (USA), which acts as our reseller and Merchant of Record. When you check out, you enter your name, e-mail, billing address and payment details directly with Polar and its payment processor, Stripe.
As the seller of the purchase, Polar processes this data to handle payment, tax, fraud prevention and invoicing, and Polar’s own privacy policy applies. We receive only what we need to give you access and to answer billing questions: your name, e-mail, billing address, plan and subscription status.
5. How long we keep data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account, progress and submitted texts | Until you delete your account, then deleted within 30 days |
| Support e-mails | Up to 3 years after the matter is closed |
| Server logs | Up to 14 days, longer only to investigate a security incident |
| Invoices and accounting records | 8 to 10 years, as required by German tax and commercial law |
| Newsletter address | Until you unsubscribe |
6. Age, security and changes
GermanGrad is intended for users aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
We protect your data with HTTPS encryption, encrypted password storage and access limited to people who need it to run the Service.
We may update this policy when our Service or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will e-mail account holders about significant changes.
The terms governing your use of the Service are set out separately in our Terms of Use.
